The idea of forming the quartet came in March 2008
with Andy approaching Emma, Martin and Margaret Goldsmith to join
up with him. So the group, the Wellman Clarinet Quartet, started
in September 2008. Margaret left to go back to Australia and so
Natalie joined them in July 2009. Polly joined in the summer of
2010, taking Natalie's place when she went to Australia.
The quartet is based in the borough of Richmond and meets regularly
to practise and try out new pieces.
The quartet plays in a variety of concerts around West London, for
weddings and any other situations as needed. They can perform any
type of music from classical to light as required. Programmes are
compiled from the repertiore to suit each individual situation.
The quartet's current repertoire is as shown on the page Repertoire.
